SOP Development Training

The main responsibility of a research ethics committee is to protect potential participants in the research, but it must also take into account potential risks and benefits for the community in which the research will be carried out. In order to perform their tasks, the Ethics Committee should have a Standard Operating System (SOP).  Well-written SOPs provide direction, improve communication and contribute to the effective functioning of an Ethics Committee (EC) so that a quality and consistent ethical review mechanism for health and biomedical research is put in place for all proposals.

Mochtar Riady Institute for Nanotechnology Ethics Committee (MRIN EC) will be facilitating workshop for development of SOP for Ethics Committees. MRIN EC has been recognized by the Forum for Ethical Review in the Asian and Western Pacific Region (FERCAP).
