DIVERSITY: MULTIOMICS, CULTURE, AND ADAPTATION
Mochtar
Riady Institute for Nanotechnology (MRIN) proudly presents a public seminar
about anthropological, social networks, genetic, and functional genomic aspects
that build the diversity of Indonesian populations.
The
Indonesian archipelago served as an ancient crossroad for human migrations and
settlements in the region. Various types of geographic features of the
archipelago, environmental/pathogen pressures, and multilayer settlement history
have shaped the immense diversity of human ethnic groups, languages, cultures,
and, hence, their genomes. Adaptability to different lifestyles, i.e.
agricultural vs. hunter-gatherer way of life, has also impacted the unique
complex traditions currently present in ethnic groups across the archipelago.
This
is a hybrid seminar, with limited seats. The seminar will be held on:
Date:
Monday, August 22nd, 2022.
Time:
09.00-15.00 WIB
Venue:
MRIN Main Hall. Jl. Boulevard Jend. Sudirman No.1688, Lippo Karawaci
