We investigate bacteria isolated from heavy metal and antibiotic co-contaminated rivers in Indonesia, characterizing their resistance mechanisms and evaluating their potential as bioremediation agents for environmental pollution. By integrating physiological assays and whole-genome sequencing, this work advances our understanding of microbial co-resistance and informs the development of sustainable, biology-based strategies for cleaning up complex environmental contaminants.
