MRIN Participates in the 4th ARISE Annual Meeting in Nagasaki, Japan Nagasaki, Japan – October 16–17, 2025.
Mochtar Riady Institute for Nanotechnology (MRIN) proudly participated in the 4th ARISE Annual Meeting, held at Nagasaki University’s Technology Innovation Campus. The event, co-hosted by the Japan Institute for Health Security (JIHS) and Nagasaki University, brought together representatives from academic research organizations (AROs) across Asia to advance the clinical trials ecosystem in the region.
This year’s ARISE meeting carried the theme “Leveraging ARO Capacity to Strengthen the Clinical Trials Ecosystem in the ARISE.” The two-day program included institutional updates, workshops on data management, and symposium sessions discussing the development of vaccines, drugs, and diagnostics for infectious disease control.
Representing MRIN, Prof. Irawan Yusuf, M.D., Ph.D. (president of MRIN) presented updates on Indonesia’s clinical research landscape during the Network Updates session. His presentation highlighted MRIN’s and Siloam’s ongoing efforts to strengthen translational research capacity and foster regional collaboration in clinical trial development. Also representing MRIN, Dr. rer. nat. Juandy Jo, M.D. (executive director of MRIN) participated in the Workshop session titled Strengthening Clinical Trial Ecosystem: Translating Insights and Competencies into Capacities, in which he emphasized the importance of centralized data management within ARISE for conducting clinical trials in the region.
MRIN’s participation reaffirms its commitment to advancing clinical research excellence and fostering collaboration among Asian research institutions to address global health challenges.
