Silk is a natural product that is produce by silkworm. One important species of that has been studied comprehensively is the Bombyx Mori silkworm. Silk fibroin has remarkable mechanical properties (biocompatible, biodegradable, and tunable mechanical strength) when formed into different materials. They show promising application in tissue engineering & biomedical application. In this silk fibroin research project, we are conducting the research of silk sponge and silk film from silk fibroin-Bombyx mori derived for biomedical application including wound healing, hemostasis application, and antimicrobial surface.
